Small Business AI Workshop
Workbook
Name ______________________ Town ______________________ Date ______________________
Module 1
What AI is (and is not) for a shop like yours
Write down one task from this week that felt repetitive. Not a strategy. A real, slightly boring job.
Examples: quoting the same fence, answering “are you open Monday?”, posting because it has been too quiet.
Module 2
Find the work worth handing over
Circle the two hours this week you most want back. Name the task, not the feeling.
Be specific: “Thursday late quotes,” not “marketing.”
Module 3
Ask so you get something useful
Rewrite one real message you sent last week as a prompt. Include the job, three facts, the voice, and one thing it must not invent.
If you do not want to use a real name, swap it for “a customer in Blackfalds.”
Module 4
Words that help people find you
Draft one Facebook or Instagram post about something that is actually true this week. Three facts. Under 80 words.
If you have no “news,” use hours, a seasonal note, or a thank-you to a kind of customer you like serving.
Module 5
Catch the questions you already answer
List the five questions customers ask you most. Write the shortest true answer you are willing to stand behind.
If a question needs “it depends,” write what it depends on. That is still useful.
Module 6
Guardrails and a week you can keep
Pick ONE thing you will try in the next seven days. Write the day, the job, and how you will know it was good enough.
Small and repeatable beats impressive and abandoned.
